Cancellation Policy
First Trimester Midwife
Last updated: July 2026
1. Overview
This Cancellation Policy applies to all services provided by First Trimester Midwife ("we", "us", "our"), including telehealth consultations.
By booking an appointment with First Trimester Midwife, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy.
2. Our Commitment
We reserve dedicated telehealth appointment times to ensure women have timely access to expert first trimester care.
Late cancellations and missed appointments reduce appointment availability for other women seeking care and may delay access to important early pregnancy support.
3. Cancelling or Rescheduling Your Appointment
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we ask that you provide at least 24 hours' notice wherever possible.
To cancel or reschedule your appointment, please contact us by email or SMS as soon as possible.
Providing adequate notice allows us to offer your appointment to another woman requiring timely first trimester care.
4. Late Cancellations
Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice may be recorded as a late cancellation.
Repeated late cancellations may affect your eligibility for future appointments.
5. Missed Appointments
If you do not attend your scheduled telehealth appointment and have not contacted us beforehand, your appointment will be recorded as a Did Not Attend (DNA).
Repeated missed appointments may result in reduced priority for future bookings, a requirement to contact the practice before another appointment is offered, or, where appropriate, discontinuation of care.
6. Exceptional Circumstances
We understand that unexpected situations can arise.
If illness, emergencies or other unforeseen circumstances prevent you from attending your appointment, please contact us as soon as possible.
Any exceptions to this policy will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
7. Medicare
Eligible consultations are bulk billed through Medicare.
Medicare does not provide payment for appointments that are not attended.
Repeated missed appointments reduce the availability of publicly funded healthcare services for other women requiring timely care.
8. Changes to This Policy
This Cancellation Policy may be reviewed and updated from time to time.
The most current version will always be published on our website. Continued use of our services indicates your acceptance of any updates.
